Mercedes-AMGs four door version of their terrifying green beast, the AMG-GT has been spotted on test in camo-gear ahead of the cars full-scale reveal at the Geneva Motor Show next month. The official images released by the Mercedes Benz social media machine, show a car minus the dramatic rear wing that we has spotted on previous test mules of the Mercedes-AMG GT. Which suggests that the GT might get a sportier, more aero focussed model later in the year. The tuned to the titts four door is likely to also get more power, which will allow it to compete with the baddest four-door super saloons out there. Especially considering that the fixed rear wing has been reserved for the most intense AMGs ever, the likes that have worn the black badging or R badging in the past.
Now setting the tone for the GT-saloon, was the GT concept that Mercedes-AMG floated in 207 which will come with a range of EQ Power-branded petrol-electric hybrid drivelines featuring different battery capacities, outputs and electric ranges. The idea is once in full-production the GT saloon will serve as a more focussed version of today’s CLS 63 and a rival to the Porsche Panamera. Sales for the production model are scheduled to begin in September 2018.
The GT-Saloon will be launched with the same 612 hp twin-turbo 4.0 litre V8 with a 9-speed automatic and fully variable four-wheel drive system as the latest E63 S 4Matic, from which it draws inspiration and some cycle-part, we will be on the ground at Geneva following the launch so watch this space for more.
