Kia India is all set to launch the Clavis tomorrow, which will be its second MPV in its lineup. The Clavis is the updated version of the Carens, but it will offer plenty of features and premiumness. Kia will sell both the MPVs side by side. Here is everything we know ahead of the launch.
Kia Clavis: Exteriors
Kia has recently shared a teaser of the Clavis, and based on this, the MPV sports massive L-shaped LED DRLs with three pod LED headlights. The Clavis is expected to get a refreshed front facia, including the grille and front and rear bumpers. It will come with a new set of alloy wheels, and it could be a size up from the Carens. Moving on to the rear, it has new connected LED tail lights.

Kia Clavis: Interiors
Being a premium MPV and slotted above the Carens, the Clavis is expected to get new interiors including upholstery, more soft-touch materials and the new dashboard. The three-row MPV will offer multiple seating options — a six or a seven-seater layout.
Kia Clavis: Features
The Clavis will be a big upgrade from the Carens as it will come with twin 12.3-inch displays, including the infotainment system and the digital instrument cluster. The top-of-the-line Carens, on the other hand, is equipped with dual 10.25-inch displays, while the lower trims come with an 8-inch infotainment system. It will get a dual zone climate control, electric powered front passenger seat with Boss Mode, panoramic sunroof and front ventilated seats.

Kia Clavis: Safety
The Clavis will be the first MPV in its segment to offer a Level 2 ADAS suite that includes forward collision avoidance assist, adaptive cruise control, blind spot collision, lane keep assist and departure warning, etc. It will offer six airbags, electronic stability control (ESC), front and rear parking sensors, a tyre pressure monitoring system (TPMS) and a 360-degree camera.
Kia Clavis: Engine Options
The Clavis will retain the Carens’ three powertrains, including the 1.5-litre naturally aspirated petrol with an output of 113 bhp and 144 Nm of torque. It will only come with a 6-speed manual gearbox. Then there is the powerful 158 bhp 1.5-litre turbo petrol with 253 Nm, which offers two transmission options — the 6-speed iMT and the 7-speed dual-clutch automatic. For diesel fans, there’s the 1.5-litre motor, which churns out 114 bhp and 250 Nm and will come with a 6-speed manual and a 6-speed automatic torque converter gearbox.
