As a first for any carmaker worldwide, Hyundai USA will start selling its cars on Amazon, starting 2024. Amazon will soon launch a dedicated platform for selling cars online.
When launched in the US, customers will be able to buy any Hyundai car and variant, similar to buying any other product on Amazon. The vehicles, however, will be dispatched from the dealer’s stockyard, again similar to buying a car online on the carmaker’s website.
Hyundai selling its cars on Amazon is part of the partnership between the American e-commerce platform and the South Korean carmaker. Under the partnership, the cars will come installed with Amazon’s Alexa AI assistant, while Hyundai will be able to tap into Amazon’s massive customer base.
The e-commerce platform says that other carmakers will soon follow, but has not revealed the brand names. Also, what will be interesting to see is if this service will be available only in the US or will expand to other regions in the future.
