Automotive giants, General Motors (GM) and Honda have announced the commencement of hydrogen fuel cell technology production at their joint venture facility, Fuel Cell System Manufacturing (FCSM). This collaboration shows concrete efforts towards sustainability and renewable energy fuel solutions. 

Establishment of FCSM

Fuel Cell System Manufacturing (FCSM) was established in 2017 in Brownstown, Michigan, representing the first large-scale manufacturing joint venture dedicated to fuel cell systems. With an initial investment of $85 million, the facility spans 70 thousand square feet and has created 80 jobs so far. 

The journey started in 2013 when General Motors (GM) and Honda came together and focused on advancing fuel cell technology. Their joint mission aimed to improve the performance and durability of fuel systems through combined resources and efforts.
