Citroen Basalt: Engines
The Basalt is available in two petrol engine options — the 1.2-litre naturally aspirated and the 1.2-litre turbo. The naturally aspirated engine churns out 81 bhp and 115 Nm of torque. It is mated to a 5-speed manual and does not offer an automatic transmission option. The 1.2-litre turbo, on the other hand, produces 109 bhp and 190 Nm for the 6-speed manual and 205 Nm for the 6-speed automatic torque converter.
According to Citroen, the naturally aspirated engine achieves a fuel efficiency of 18 kmpl, while the turbocharged versions, both manual and automatic, deliver 19.5 kmpl and 18.7 kmpl respectively.
