It is that time of the year when all biking enthusiasts assemble in Goa to get a taste of the country’s motorcycling culture. The India Bike Week (IBW) 2023 starts tomorrow and attendees will get to witness a grand spectacle for the next two days. A lot of new launches and unveils are set to take place in the two-day motorcycle festival.
Let us check out a few motorcycles expected to be launched/unveiled at the upcoming edition of IBW.
Aprilia RS 457
As of now, Aprilia RS 457 is the only confirmed launch at IBW 2023. Unveiled earlier this year, prices for the all-new RS 457 will be announced on December 8 while deliveries are expected to commence shortly after. The RS 457 will also mark Aprilia’s re-entry into India’s motorcycle market after all its bikes were silently taken off the shelves earlier this year.
Powering Aprilia RS 457 is a 457cc, liquid-cooled twin-cylinder engine that makes 47 bhp and 48.8 Nm of peak torque. This engine will be mated to a 6-speed gearbox. Some sources say that a quickshifter is available as an option. It will rival the likes of KTM RC 390 and Kawasaki Ninja 400.
Kawasaki Eliminator
Kawasaki is expected to introduce a couple of models at the IBW 2023. The most anticipated of them is Eliminator which will be making a comeback in India after more than two decades. In its latest avatar, the Eliminator is a power cruiser with a neo-retro design. Powering Eliminator is a 451cc DOHC, liquid-cooled, parallel-twin engine that delivers 45 bhp and 42.6 Nm of peak torque. Transmission duties are carried out by a 6-speed gearbox via a slip and assist clutch.
Kawasaki W175
Kawasaki is also expected to launch an updated iteration of the W175 at the upcoming IBW. The new W175 is likely to receive some new colour schemes and may have a couple of more features. Mechanically, it will be the same featuring a 177cc, single-cylinder, air-cooled engine paired with a five-speed gearbox. This motor delivers 12.8 bhp at 7,500 rpm and a peak torque of 13.2 Nm at 6,000 rpm.
Triumph Stealth Editions
Triumph has teased Stealth Editions of its modern classic range on its social media handles. It will be interesting to see which model goes under the knife for the upcoming Stealth Editions. We expect the iconic British motorcycle brand to introduce special edition variants of Speed 400 and Scrambler 400X at the 2023 IBW.
Kawasaki Ninja ZX-6R
Earlier in October, there were rumours of Kawasaki launching the ZX-6R in India towards the end of this year. The IBW seems to be the perfect opportunity for Team Green to unleash this beast. Sitting between the ZX-4R and the flagship ZX-10R in the company’s global lineup, the ZX-6R is likely to be brought as a fully-imported model via the CBU route which means it will carry a very hefty price tag.
