The ongoing Bharat Mobility Expo is gaining momentum and the biggest attraction yet for enthusiasts is from Suzuki, in the form of the new V-Strom 800DE. The adventure motorcycle was showcased at the Expo, and first made its debut at Eicma, based on the company’s new 800cc platform.
The Suzuki V-Stron 800DE replaces the 650, which was sold globally and in India. Now with the replacement here, Suzuki is likely to launch the new 800DE in India, sometime in March 2024.
The new Suzuki V-Stron 800DE is powered by a new 776cc, inline twin-cylinder engine that amkes 83bhp and 78Nm of torque with the help of a 6-speed gearbox. The engine is shared with the road-based GSX-8S and the GSX-8R motorcycles.
The 800DE features a TFT screem spoke wheels, fully adjustable suspension at both ends, dual-channel ABS, ride modes, bi-directional qickshifter, traction control and more.
In India, the Suzuki V-Stron 800DE will compete with the BMW F850GS, Triumph Tiger 900, and Honda Transalp 750. The V-Strom 800DE is expected to be sold here as a CBU and one can expect Suzuki to price the motorcycle around Rs 10-12 lakh, ex-showroom.
