Suzuki Motorcycle India, on Frirday, launched the rear-disc variants of the Gixxer and Gixxer SF in the country. While the Suzuki Gixxer rear disc is priced at Rs 79,726 (ex-showroom, Delhi), the Gixxer SF rear-disc variant comes at Rs 87,243 (ex-showroom, Delhi). The rear-disc variants also get a new green and black dual tone colour.
Besides the above-mentioned changes, no changes to the vehicle’s design and engine have been made. Both the Suzuki Gixxer and Gixxer SF rear-disc variants continue to derive power from the 154.9cc, single-cylinder, air-cooled engine. Mated to a 5-speed manual gearbox, this engine produces a maximum power of 14.5bhp at 8000rpm and a torque of 14Nm at 6000rpm.
With the introduction of new variant, the company aims to further strengthen its position in the fast-growing 150cc segment. The Suzuki Gixxer measures 2050mm in length, 785mm in width, 1030mm in height and features 100/80-70 front & 140/60R-17 rear tyres.
The company plans to also launch the fuel-injected version of the Gixxer SF late this year. The Gixxer SF-Fi was also showcased at the 2016 Auto Expo along with the rear disc variants of the bike.
