After giving the first glimpse at the last edition Motoverse (formerly called Rider Mania) in November 2023, Royal Enfield has now launched the much anticipated Shotgun 650 in the country. With prices starting at Rs 3.59 lakh (ex-showroom), Shotgun is the fourth model in the Enfield’s 650cc lineup after Interceptor, Continental GT and Super Meteor.
It is slotted between the Continental GT and Super Meteor, in terms of pricing. It is available in four colour variants namely— Sheetmetal Grey (Rs 3.59 lakh), Plasma Blue (Rs 3.70 lakh), Drill Green (Rs 3.70 lakh) and Stencil White (Rs 3.73 lakh).
Royal Enfield Shotgun 650: Design
The Shotgun 650 blends retro-futuristic design with modern features. Like Super Meteor, Shotgun gets a similar low-slung stance but a tighter front rake and a shorter wheelbase than its cruiser sibling. Other visual highlights include a gloss black engine cover, spoked alloy wheels, twin peashooter exhaust mufflers, shortened front and rear fenders, and a wide, flat handlebar.

Key differences between the neo-retro bobber and the cruiser are different wheel sizes, with a 18-inch front and 17-inch rear setup in Shotgun as compared to the more traditional cruiser setup of 19-inch/16-inch on Super Meteor. The Shotgun also has a taller seat of 795mm as opposed to the 740mm seat on the Super Meteor. It also has a smaller 13.8-litre fuel tank. It weighs a hefty 240 kg ,1 kilo lighter that the flagship cruiser.

Shotgun gets the same equipment as Super Meteor 650 with features like a semi-digital instrument console, Tripper Navigation with Bluetooth connectivity, all-LED illumination, and a USB charging port. It also benefits from the new Royal Enfield Wingman app that provides information regarding live location, fuel and engine oil levels, service reminders and more.
In addition, Enfield is offering as many as 31 accessories under the Genuine Motorcycle Accessories (GMA) programme. It has been designed primarily for riders who love to customise their motorcycles.

As for hardware, suspension duties on Shotgun 650 are carried out by 43mm Showa big piston front upside down forks, and twin tube 5-step preload adjust RSU at the rear. It rides on 18-inch front and 17-inch front alloy wheels while anchorage is taken care of by 320mm front and 300mm rear disc brakes aided by dual-channel ABS.
Powering Shotgun 650 is the same 649cc, air/oil-cooled, parallel-twin cylinder engine which is paired with a 6-speed gearbox via a slip and assist clutch. This motor pumps out an identical 47 bhp and 52.3 Nm of peak torque.
