One of the most-talked-about middle-weight adventure motorcycles in the last few months is the Honda Transalp, which made its debut at EICMA 2022. Now, the Japanese manufacturer has launched the XL750 Transalp in India, at Rs 10.99 lakh ex-showroom, limited to 100 units.
The Honda XL750 Transalp is a modern take on the original Transalp of the 1980s, similar to the iconic Honda Africa Twin. The motorcycle features traditional adventure styling similar to the Africa Twin but in a scaled-down proportion. The motorcycle gets an upswept side-slung exhaust and a tall fairing.
The Transalp rides on a 21-inch front and an 18-inch rear wheel and a set of 43mm Showa USD suspension at the front, making the motorcycle ideal for everyday commutes and crossing continents. The motorcycle gets disc brakes at both ends with dual-channel ABS.
Other features include a 5-inch TFT dash that houses the speedometer, tachometer, gear-position indicator, fuel gauge and consumption, riding modes, engine parameters and more. This display is customizable as per the rider’s preference and the management can be done via the screen or the switchgear on the left handlebar.
At the heart of the new Honda XL750 Transalp is a 755cc liquid-cooled parallel-twin engine with a 270-degree crankshaft, which makes 90bhp and 75Nm of torque, mated to a 6-speed gearbox. The cylinders use a Ni-SiC (Nickel-Silicon Carbide) coating, as used on the CRF450R and CBR1000RR-R Fireblade, to increase the engine’s efficiency.
Keeping the power at bay is a host of electronic aids such as five riding modes – Sport, Standard, Rain, Gravel and User –to select their preferred combination of engine power, engine braking and Honda Selectable Torque Control (HSTC) with ABS and assist slipper clutch.
The new Honda XL750 Transalp will be available in two colour options: Ross White and Matte Ballistic Black. Bookings for the same are now open across Honda BigWing dealerships for the first 100 customers.
