The BSA Gold Star is an iconic name amongst the older bike community and is set to return to India as a new package. Classic Legends, the makers of Jawa and Yezdi are set to launch the BSA Gold Star motorcycle in India on August 15. When launched, it will be the third brand under its portfolio and here’s what to expect from BSA Gold Star when launched.
BSA Gold Star: Design
The BSA Gold Star name has retained its iconic British styling, although the motorcycle is completely new. The bike gets a classic metal tank with a host of chrome and machined parts, while the single round headlight, a wide handlebar, a single-piece seat, a twin-pod instrument cluster, and spoke wheels, all add to the classic look of the motorcycle.

BSA Gold Star: Equipment and features
The new BSA Gold Star is suspended on traditional telescopic front forks, dual rear shocks, 18-inch front and 17-inch rear tyres, disc brakes at both ends with dual-channel ABS, and twin analogue metres. In terms of cycling parts and features, the BSA Gold Star keeps it simple, since there are no ABS modes, traction control, and other electronic nannies in the way.

BSA Gold Star: Engine specifications
The Gold Star is powered by a 652cc single-cylinder liquid-cooled engine that makes 45bhp and 52 Nm of torque. The engine is paired with a five-speed gearbox. The engine is a large thumper, which adds to the classic appeal of the motorcycle, however, when compared to its closest rival in India which uses a twin-cylinder setup, the Gold Star seems to be a much simpler motorcycle. Here’s how it stacks up against the Royal Enfield Interceptor.

BSA Gold Star: Pricing and competition
The company needs to be competitive with the pricing of the Gold Star, since its closest rival, the Royal Enfield Interceptor is priced at Rs 3.03 lakh, ex-showroom. The Gold Star has to appeal to customers and spark their interest since the Interceptor has been on sale for a while now in India.
Also, given the fact that the Gold Star will be made in India and it uses simple components, Classic Legends has a chance at pricing the motorcycle under Rs 3 lakh. However, August 15 will have more details on the BSA.
