With the middleweight adventure bike segment gaining prominence in the Indian market in recent times, it was only a matter of time when Aprilia decided to foray into this space. Aprilia recently announced that it will launch the Tuareg 660 in India, marking the Italian brand’s first-ever adventure motorcycle in the country.
A very popular name in motocross events, Aprilia will launch the Tuareg 660 in India April 16. Let us take a look at what to expect from the upcoming middleweight ADV.
Aprilia Tuareg 660: Variants, colours, & prices
Aprilia will offer the Tuareg 660 in three different colour variants namely Atreides Black, Evocative Dakar Podium, and Canyon Sand. Even before the official launch, Aprilia had earlier listed the prices of the upcoming Tuareg for India. The Atreides Black, and Evocative Dakar Podium paint schemes will be priced at Rs 18.85 lakh whereas the Canyon Sand will come with a price tag of Rs 19.16 lakh (both prices ex-showroom).

Aprilia Tuareg 660: Expected features
Apart from different colour schemes and liveries, all three variants of Tuareg 660 are expected to offer the same specs and features. As a result, the entire Tuareg 660 range comes equipped with a five-inch TFT display, Bluetooth connectivity, traction, engine map, and engine brake. Other electronic gizmos such as four ride modes, including two customisable modes, traction control, switchable rear ABS, cruise control, will be offered via Aprilia Performance Ride Control (APRC) system.
Aprilia Tuareg 660: Expected specs
For the uninitiated, the Aprilia Tuareg 660 is based on the same 660cc platform as the Tuono 660 and RS 660, also on sale in India. Therefore, it will be powered by the same 659cc, liquid-cooled, parallel-twin motor that dishes out 80 bhp at 9,250rpm and 70 Nm of peak torque at 6,500rpm. This mill is paired with a 6-speed gearbox.

The Aprilia Tuareg 660 gets a hardware setup which is tuned for hardcore off-roading. For starters, the middleweight ADV gets a 43 mm Kayaba fully-adjustable USD front forks and a Kayaba fully-adjustable rear monoshock, with a suspension travel of 240mm at both ends. The adventure bike rides on 21-18 wire-spoke wheels with tubeless tyres. The Tuareg 660 has a dry weight of 187 kg and has a saddle height of 860 mm.
