Kia Carens Clavis price leaked ahead of launch? Here’s the truth!

After months of anticipation, Kia took the covers off from the Carens Clavis, a more premium derivative of the regular Carens. The South Korean carmaker revealed the vehicle in almost its entirety barring the prices which will most likely be announced next month. Pre-booking for the new Carens will commence from 00:01 AM on 9 May 2025 at a token amount of Rs 25,000 via Kia’s official website or an authorised dealership.

Ahead of its official launch, prices for the Kia Carens Clavis have been leaked on social media courtesy Tejen Dhankhar. An image leaked on social media lists the prices of all variants of the Clavis. However, after taking a close look at the image, there are chances that the information provided is not completely accurate.

According to the leaked image, prices for Kia Carens Clavis starts from Rs 11.60 lakh and goes up to Rs 20.40 lakh (both ex-showroom). That said, when we take a close look at the price list we come to know the name of the variants don’t match with the official nomenclature of trims provided by Kia. For reference, Kia is offering  the Carens Clavis in seven trims namely HTE, HTE(O), HTK, HTK+, HTK+(O), HTX & HTX+.

The leaked image has variant nomenclature like Premium, Prestige, Gravity, etc. which is in sync with the existing Kia Carens. This suggests that the image is likely providing inaccurate information on prices of the Carens Clavis. The list also doesn’t include prices for the 1.5-litre turbocharged petrol variants paired with a 6-speed manual gearbox which is a new addition in the Carens Clavis. This further testifies that the information is false.

Kia Carens Clavis: Powertrain

The new Kia Carens Clavis retains the same powertrain setup as the regular Carens including a 1.5-litre naturally aspirated petrol engine, a 1.5-litre turbo petrol engine, and a 1.5-litre diesel engine. Transmission options include 6-speed manual as standard across all three engines apart from a 6-speed clutchless manual (iMT), a 6-speed torque converter automatic, and a 7-speed dual-clutch automatic.
