Looks like German automaker Mercedes-Benz is rapidly progressing with the development of its new Mercedes-Benz GLB- Class and now the SUV looks much different than the just boxy vehicles. Images spotted by Motor1.com suggests that close to the production version of the GLB-Class gets new dimensions new tail lights at the rear and new front headlamp cluster with DRLs. Expect the new Mercedes-Benz GLB-Class not to be all slim and curvy and the overall boxy shape might also be misleading with all that modern crafty camouflage. The new headlights suggest that the face gets sharper vertical lines with a taller and broader shape very similar to the G-Class.

Mercedes-Benz GLB-Class is based on the MFA2 platform that also underpins the A-Class and B-Class compact cars but will feature third-row seating and get SUV stance. It will be the first compact SUV by the German automaker and will have a stretched wheelbase. The company has not officially announced its market launch in any of the international markets. Expect Mercedes-Benz to unveil this product in 2019 followed by a market launch in Europe and USA. Mercedes-Benz India would be keen on bringing in this product to India with the kind of growth SUVs are showcasing in India, but expect this product to be launched on in 2020. Mercedes-Benz would also consider local assembly of this GLB-Class from its plant in Chakan, Pune. India might also get a 5-seater option on this new Mercedes-Benz GLB-Class compact SUV.

Like almost with every model, Mercedes-Benz will also be bringing in its AMG variants on this SUV. Expect the GLB-Class to have a similar engine configuration as in the current Mercedes-Benz A-Class. While the power outputs on the engine would be adequate enough for a fun drive, reports also suggest the top-variants to have 400-plus horsepower and just the idea of it is very exciting.
