It is very important to work with local communities as it helps preserve and showcase the region’s unique culture, traditions, and heritage, which can be a significant attraction for tourists & ensuring that economic benefits are distributed locally, and the environment is protected.

Q: What are some of the biggest challenges that tourism in Mizoram is facing?

A: We face several challenges in the tourism sector in Mizoram.

Connectivity: Limited transportation infrastructure, including road and air connectivity, makes it difficult for tourists to access the state.

Mizoram’s tourism is highly seasonal, because of rains and the problems that causes.

Insufficient accommodation, restaurants, and tourist facilities in many parts of the state limits the growth of the tourism industry.

Mizoram has unique socio-cultural traditions, and respecting local customs and traditions while promoting tourism is a challenge.

Balancing tourism development with environmental conservation is important due to the state’s lush natural beauty.

Limited national and international awareness of Mizoram as a tourist destination is a barrier to attracting visitors.
