Amidst rumours of World War 3 floating on the internet, a Russian news channel has warned the country’s citizens that all of them should know about nearest bomb shelters in their locality.
According to the Daily Star, Russian Channel NTV, which is considered to be close to the Russian government, has warned viewers: “Everyone of you should know where the nearest bomb shelter is.”
Russia energy giant, Gazprom, which is mostly owned by the government, runs NTV.
Russian people are reportedly preparing themselves for a fully blown confrontation with the West, including Nato countries and the US over Syria. According to the Daily Star, Russian officials and media have warned people of the country that the US may launch an “all-out” attack against Russia.
The relationship between the US and Russia has soured in recent months over the latter’s continuous bombing in Syria.
Daily Star reported that Russia has also organised “civil defence drills” for over 40 million people of the country to prepare them in advance for an “apocalyptic nuclear war.”
Russian officials have also been asked to recall their relatives to the country. Analysts believe that Russia is preparing for a “big war”, the Daily Star reported.
Another report by the Daily Star on October 3 had said that Russian officials have warned citizens of a nuclear attack by the US. The report also said that Russia has built underground shelters for the nuclear attack that can save all 12 million residents of Moscow.
