A 22-year-old Indo-Canadian man has been arrested and charged by Canadian authorities after being found in a hotel room with six minors, including a 12-year-old girl who later reported she was assaulted.
Who is Yuvraaz Singh?
According to a release from the Lethbridge Police Service (LPS), the man, identified as Yuvraaz Singh, a resident of Taber in Alberta, was taken into custody at Vancouver International Airport on January 19, after returning to Canada.
Police charged Singh with sexual assault, sexual interference, inviting sexual touching and obstructing a peace officer, in connection with an incident that unfolded over a year earlier.
The investigation began in April 2025, when officers responded to a call to assist in the recovery of property from a hotel room in Lethbridge.
Upon entering the room, officers discovered Singh with six children, one boy and five girls, all between the ages of 12 and 14. Investigators later determined that Singh had met the minors on social media and had taken them to the hotel after driving them around “to various locations.”
While at the hotel, the teenagers were provided with alcohol, and a 12-year-old girl reported she was sexually assaulted, police said.
Singh lied about his age to police, fled Canada after crime
When confronted by the police, Singh lied about his age, claiming he was a teenager, though he was later determined to be 21 years old at the time.
Following the early stages of the investigation, officers made repeated attempts to contact him but discovered he had left the country. As a result, authorities issued a Canada-wide arrest warrant.
Police were alerted to Singh’s arrival before he was nabbed from the airport. He now remains in custody in British Columbia awaiting transport back to Alberta to face multiple charges, according to the police.
