The US Justice Department’s much-overdue release of the new batch of files related to disgraced financier Jeffrey Epstein name-dropped several powerful figures, including US President Donald Trump, billionaire Bill Gates, NYC Mayor Zohran Mamdani’s director mom Mira Nair and many more.

In addition to publishing more than 3 million additional pages being online as a response to the Epstein Files Transparency Act, the DOJ put the spotlight on some emails from the convicted sex offender’s personal collection.

As spotted in DOJ’s Epstein Library, multiple such virtual exchanges between the late financier and biotech venture capitalist Boris Nikolic help bring the pair’s unlikely friendship from the past to the forefront. In the emails from 2012, Nikolic (who previously served as Bill Gates‘ chief advisor for science and technology), and Epstein are seen sharing their thoughts about India.

Strong words like “hate” and “filthy” are also used to refer to certain Indian locations in the emails from over a decade ago.

Epstein-Nikolic emails about India

As seen in a file titled EFTA02026153, the DOJ shed light on an email from Nikolic to Epstein, wherein the former Gates advisor voiced his disappointment about being stuck in India’s capital after a flight delay.

“I am so upset,” Nikolic began. “These idiots delayed flight from pune and I am now stranded in new Delhi. Will not be able to come and meet you. I HATE this place. Even thinking that I must now spend here additional night makes me sick.”

Earlier in the same email thread, Nikolic wrote to Epstein, “Can’t wait to catch up. So filthy here!! Refused to leave my hotel for last 2 days 😉 How are you???”

The late financier responded: “strong.”

In yet another email, Nikolic had written on June 1, 2012, “Leaving India. Not my favorite place. You would HATE it 😉 In the middle of nowhere — Pune India. Next 20h is travel. Arriving to NYC at 4:30am Saturday. Sorry for a silence from my side. China and India visits were very busy. See you soon!”

Elsewhere, Epstein replied: “never have to apologise.. I fully understand.”

Other India mentions in Epstein Files

Beyond emails echoing the ‘India hate’ sentiment, the latest Epstein Files drop turned attention to the more notable mention of Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi in the so-called notorious documents.

In an iMessage conversation now published by the DOJ release, former top Trump aide Steven Bannon and Epstein were spotted alluding to a Modi aide, who is quoted as saying that no one in Washington speaks to the PM and Pakistan served as a proxy to his “main enemy,” China.

The emails from the late financier claimed that Trump and Modi’s meeting in June 2017 played a role in making the Indian leader’s subsequent visit to Israel “work.”

The Indian Ministry of External Affairs has since slammed the reports of the email message seeking to drag PM Modi into the Epstein saga. “Beyond the fact of the Prime Minister’s official visit to Israel in July 2017, the rest of the allusions in the email are little more than trashy ruminations by a convicted criminal, which deserve to be dismissed with the utmost contempt,” stated MEA’s official spokesperson Randhir Jaiswal.

A mention of Indian Union Minister Hardeep Singh Puri was also dismissed by the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) as “random name-dropping” by Epstein. Top businessman Anil Ambani was also alluded to in email exchanges about social circles. However, there is no evidence of the Reliance boss’ direct link to Epstein.
