New footage filmed from the perspective of the US Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) agent who fatally shot Renee Nicole Good in Minneapolis was released by Donald Trump’s White House on Friday (US time). The clip not only captures the woman’s final words, but also portrays the series of action that unfolded between her, her partner and the ICE officer in question, leading up to the harrowing shooting.
Seconds before the on-duty officer shot her, Good, who was a US citizen and a mother of three, called out everything was “fine” and “I’m not mad at you.” The ICE agent who shot her at the scene has since been identified as Jonathan E Ross.
The clip driving the discourse surrounding the Minnesota shooting was first posted on X by media outlet Alpha News. Subsequently, White House’s Rapid Response X account and JD Vance also amplified it on social media.
Vice President, JD Vance, on his part, asserted online that the shooting video filmed on Ross’ cellphone established that “his life was endangered and he fired in self-defence.”
In a related post, the second-in-command added, “If you want to say this woman’s death is a tragedy, that we should pray for her soul as Christians and Americans, then I agree with you… But … does this law enforcement officer have a family? Yes. Did he get seriously injured by a vehicle just six months ago? Yes. Did he have a reason to fear for his life? Yes. Does he have every right to safety while he’s doing his job? Yes.”
Minnesota shooting video: ICE agent directed a vile slur at Renee Good
As per the video circulating online, the visuals shed light on a man calling Renee Good a “f**ing bit**” after gunshots were heard.
The few initial moments showed someone approaching Good’s Honda Pilot. Pointing the phone camera at her, the person showed the woman sitting in the driver’s seat. At the time, the car appeared to have been stopped across a roadway while a siren could be heard blaring in the background.

“That’s fine, dude,” Renee Good is heard saying. From filming the video in front of her car, the ICE agent eventually moves past her window, ultimately pointing the camera at her car’s back license plate. Meanwhile, Good is heard saying, “I’m not mad at you.”
Another woman, now identified as Good’s wife Rebecca Good, is then heard addressing the masked agent: “Hey – show your face, big boy. We don’t change our plates every morning, just so you know. It will be the same plate when you come talk to us later.” At one point, the person, who was holding up her own phone to record the instance, also mentioned being a US citizen.
As the ICE agent appeared to be moving towards the driver’s side again, he can be heard asking the person to get out of the card. “Out of the car. Get out of the f**ing car. Get out of the car,” he asserted. Meanwhile, Good’s wife is seen getting into the passenger seat of the SUV.

While the agent walks in front of the car to go to the driver’s side, Good reverses her car a bit and then moves forward. Her partner, on the other side, can be heard telling her to drive. The video filmed the agent suddenly loses its view, as he appears to have lost his balance in the moment. He’s heard exclaiming, “Whoa!”
The video that emerged online earlier had caught a wide view of the incident, showing that the car had somewhat brushed against the agent. However, it was moving so slowly that the officer was able to maintain his balance.
Eventually, gunshots are heard, while the agent keeps the phone camera up. “F**ing bit**,” he can be heard saying from behind the camera. Good’s car then appears to drive away for a moment until a loud crash is heard. It remained unclear what condition Good was in at the time.
Minutes after the gunfire, Good remained in her car, as per ABC’s analysis of the clip. Bystanders even pleaded with DHS officials on the ground to let an alleged physician check on the woman. However, the agents refused, claiming that their own medics were on the way.
What Renee Nicole Good’s partner said after the ICE shooting incident
As covered by multiple US reports, Rebecca Good has since released a statement online saying, “On Wednesday, January 7th, we stopped to support our neighbours. We had whistles. They had guns. We were raising our son to believe that no matter where you come from or what you look like, all of us deserve compassion and kindness. Renee lived this belief every day. She is pure love. She is pure joy. She is pure sunshine.”
“Renee was a Christian who knew that all religions teach the same essential truth: we are here to love each other, care for each other, and keep each other safe and whole.”
The fundraiser titled “Support for Renee Good’s Widow and Family” has since been closed on the GoFundMe platform. The campaign ended up raising over $1.5 million from about 38,000 donations despite its initial goal being set at a mere $50,000-mark
