A magnitude 6.0 earthquake hit over 180 miles west of Bandon, Oregon, in the United States on Thursday, January 15 (US time).
According to the US Geological Survey, the quake jolted the coast right after 7:25 pm (local time).
The Oregon Department of Emergency Management’s official X account relayed the National Tsunami Warning Centre’s official statement thereafter. In its Tsunami Information Statement, the officials said that no tsunami was expected. As a result, no tsunami warning or advisory was issued in the aftermath.
