The US Justice Department released over 3 million pages of files related to the convicted sex offender Jeffrey Epstein on Friday (US time). The documents alluded to mentions about numerous high-profile figures, including US President Donald Trump, Elon Musk, Melania Trump, an ex-Obama White House official, Zohran Mamdani’s mother Mira Nair and Bill Gates.
The documents posted online account for the largest tranche of Epstein files released by the DOJ to date. Arriving weeks after the Congress-imposed December 19 deadline, the released included 2,000 videos and about 180,000 images.
At a news conference on Friday, Deputy Attorney General Todd Blanche hinted that the latest trove of Epstein Files would be the last major release of government files. He further detailed that even the files released Friday contained tens of thousands of redactions due to sensitive information linked to Epstein’s victims.
At the same time, Blanche asserted that the White House “had nothing to do” with the vetting of files released this week. “They had no oversight and they did not tell this department how to do our review and what to look for and what to redact or not redact,” he said.

– Donald Trump: As per an internal FBI memo from 2021 cited in the new batch of files released, Epstein’s accomplice Ghislaine Maxwell “presented” a young woman to the Republican leader, notifying him the woman was “available.”
The memo, which is heavily redacted, was based on an interview investigators conducted in 2021. It details a meeting between the MAGA leader and an unspecified woman, who was possibly around 22 years old on an unspecified date.
“MAXWELL presented [the woman] to TRUMP,” the memo said. “he woman was then “invited to MAR-A-LAGO where she was given a tour by TRUMP with EPSTEIN and MAXWELL present.”
“By the things that MAXWELL said, it was made clear that [the woman] was available,” it added. “MAXWELL said things like, “Oh I think he likes you. Aren’t you lucky. This is great.” The memo stated that the woman was give suggestions on things to wear. MAXWELL said things like, “Oh he’ll like that. He doesn’t like that.”
However, “nothing happened” between the two, according to the memo. The newly released files still don’t officially incriminate Trump of being involved in any criminal activity.
On the other side, a collection of multiple emails released as part of the new batch showed conversations between Epstein and former US Treasury Secretary and Harvard President Larry Summers. As per the virtual interactions documented therein, the two men gossiped about Trump during his first presidency.
“How guilty is Donald?” Summers asked in a 2017 email. In the same thread, he discussed the possibility of Russia helping him win the presidential election in 2016. Trump has long denied such claims. Epstein replied, “your world does not understand how dumb he really is.” In a separate 2016 email, Summers asked Epstein, “How plausible is idea t=at trump is real cocaine user?” The late financier said, “zero.”
Yet another section of the files suggested, “an unidentified female friend who was forced to perform oral sex on President Trump approximately 25 years ago in NJ [New Jersey].”
“The friend told Alexis that she was approximately 13-14 years old when this occurred and that the friend allegedly bit President Trump while performing oral sex. The friend was allegedly hit in the face after she laughed about biting President Trump. The friend said she was also abused by Epstein.”
