Turkish Airlines is offering a jaw-dropping reward for globetrotters who manage to fly to all six continents with them – 1 million miles. The challenge is on until October 27. So you have a few months to check off this epic list. However, there’s a catch. The campaign reportedly has a three-year hard expiry, meaning that you must use all your miles within three years of earning them.
Travel to 6 continents with Turkish Airlines
“6 continents, hundreds of cities, thousands of unforgettable moments… You’re invited to an unforgettable journey!” the airline teases on its websites, giving a call to explorers looking for both adventure and serious mileage.
It added, “Travel to 6 continents with Turkish Airlines – the airline that flies to more countries than any other airline – and earn the privilege of winning a total of 1 million Miles!”
That’s not just marketing fluff. The airline actually holds a Guinness World Records title for being the airline that flies to most countries. The airline flies to a total of 131 countries, has been holding the title since 2012 and was officially recognised in the year 2024.
Miles&Smiles: Flight dates
According to the website, the ticketing and travel dates fall between June 27 and October 27 this year. To participate in the campaign, you need to fly within this period to all 6 continents.
Participants can complete the journey using one-way, round-trip, or even multi-city itineraries, as long as the arrival destination is on a new continent. And no, you cannot include your past flights in this campaign.
Miles&Smiles: Details that matter
Not all tickets are eligible. If you’re flying on award tickets, corporate deals, staff perks, group bookings, or under special passenger categories, you’re out of luck.
Also, all flights must depart from or transit through Istanbul, and codeshare flights (even with a Turkish Airlines flight number) are excluded. Intra-regional flights within the same continent also don’t make the cut.
Those who meet all the requirements will get miles credited into their accounts in the first 15 days of November.
How to book tickets?
Those willing to participate in the campaign and earn the credits can book tickets through the airline’s website – turkishairlines.com – or the mobile app. Tickets can also be booked via Turkish Airlines’ sales offices and authorised travel agencies.
Here’s how the Internet reacted to this campaign:
“In my 20s my brother and I would have done this, for sport,” Mohnot said.
He added that one can spend as much as $3k (around Rs 2.5 lakh), adding that it depends where one starts from. He even shared a screengrab of the multi-city trip in October.
Another added, “Every Youtube travel creator is about to do this!”
“Relevant point to a lot of Bay Area people — Turkish is part of Star Alliance,” expressed a third.
A fourth commented, “I guess they need a synthetic bridge loan of sorts?”
