Nawaz Sharif resigned as the Pakistan Prime Minister on Friday afternoon after the Pakistan Supreme Court disqualified him from holding public office and ruled that graft cases be filed against the beleaguered leader and his children over the Panama Papers scandal. With this announcement, the 67-year-old Pak leader failed to finish his term as the Pak PM for the third time. The unanimous verdict was given by the five-judge bench and was read out by Justice Ejaz Afzal Khan inside the packed courtroom 1 of the Supreme Court. The court disqualified Sharif under Article 62 and 63 of the Constitution. However, Nawaz Sharif is not the only one who was found guilty in the case. Along with him, the Court also ordered cases in accountability court against daughter Maryam, sons Hasan and Husain, son in law Captain Safdar and former Finance Minister Ishaq Dar. Here is all you need to know about them:

1. Nawaz Sharif – Known as the ‘Lion of Punjab’, Nawaz failed to complete his tenure for the third time and it is still unclear who will replace him with the next general election scheduled for 2018. However, former information minister Marryium Aurangzeb said that Sharif would make a comeback for the fourth time soon. Nawaz’s resignation has also left a possibility for the Army to take charge of the country again.

2. Maryam Sharif – Daughter of the former Pak PM who was seen as his natural successor entered in politics in 2013 and was made in charge of Nawaz Sharif election campaign during the 2013 general election. Maryam was appointed as the Chairperson of the Prime Minister’s Youth Programme before she resigned after her appointment was challenged in the Lahore High Court.

3. Hassan Nawaz – The younger son of Nawaz Sharif, Hassan has been doing business in England for the last 21 years and is director of four companies based in London. He reportedly also owns a flat in Park Lane, London.

4. Hussain Nawaz – Another son, Hussain Nawaz who is based in Dubai, is also a businessman and on July 10, 2017, JIT had submitted a report revealing that he had failed to provide any document on Al-Azizia Steel Mill. Hussain reportedly had left Dubai three days later.

5. Captain Safdar Awan – Once the president of the PML-N Youth Wing, Captain Safdar Awam is Nawaz Sharif’s son-in-law. He is a Pakistani politician and retired army officer. Safdar has been a member of the National Assembly of Pakistan since 2008.

6. Ishaq Dar – The former Pakistan Finance Minister who was disqualified by the Pak SC has been a member of the Senate of Pakistan since 2003 and has also served as the Leader of the Opposition in the Senate from 2012 to 2013.
