In a major setback for the US President Donald Trump, the State Department has reversed the cancellation of visas. The announcement was made after the Federal Judge after a temporary hold on executive order by Federal Judge James L. Robart in Seattle, Washington on Friday.

A US State Department spokesperson confirmed the news. “We have reversed the provisional revocation of visas. Those individuals with visas that were not physically cancelled may now travel if the visa is otherwise valid,” the official said.

The State Department official added that the Trump administration is “working closely with the Department of Homeland Security and our legal teams” pending a full review of a complaint filed by Washington state’s attorney general, which filed the challenge.

On Friday, Robart issued a restraining order halting parts of Trump’s executive order that temporarily banned some immigrants and refugees from seven predominantly Muslim countires. Donald Trump responded to this with a flurry of tweets targeting the judge.

“When a country is no longer able to say who can, and who cannot, come in & out, especially for reasons of safety & security – big trouble! … Interesting that certain Middle-Eastern countries agree with the ban. They know if certain people are allowed in it’s death & destruction!,” Trump posted.
