A bizarre and somewhat similar case was reported in India earlier last year when four thieves had stolen a passbook update machine, mistaking it for an ATM. India Today had reported that four people, namely, Sahab Ali, Saiful Rahman, Mainul Haque and Saddam Hussain were caught running away with a machine they thought was an ATM. The thieves had stolen the machine from the Binovanagar State Bank of India building in Guwahati.
