
Earthquake in Russia: An earthquake measuring 6.6 magnitude jolted 235 km West-southwest of Nikolskoye, Russia on Sunday, the US Geological Survey said.
The epicenter, with a depth of 65.0 km, was initially determined to be at 53.995 degrees north latitude and 162.995 degrees east longitude, Xinhua reported.
There was no danger of a Pacific-wide tsunami from the quake, the Pacific Tsunami Warning Center said.
The quake struck at a depth of 18.4 miles (30 km) and was centered 140 miles (225 km) west-southwest of Nilol’skoye, Komandorskiye Ostrova, Russia, the USGS said.
