An Emirates passenger flight crash landed at Dubai Airport on Wednesday morning and later exploded on the runway. The Dubai International Airport runway was filled with smoke which was coming out of Emirates Boeing 777. The plane was earlier forced into an emergency landing, and had 282 passengers and 18 crew, including 226 Indians. The flight EK521 reached Dubai from Trivandrum (Thiruvananthapuram). “The Boeing 777 aircraft, departed at 10.19am from Trivandrum International Airport and was scheduled to land at 12.50pm at Dubai International Airport,” Emirates said in a media release.
There reportedly has been no fatalities among the passengers and crew. Emirates said that they expect a 4-hour network wide delay. The main priority is taking care of the safety measures. The airlines will set up a help desk at Trivandrum airport, soon, Airport Manager has said. Emergency help line number of Emirates at Trivandrum Airport is 0471-3377337. While Emirates has said that their website and other media channels will be updated regularly for more information. While all Dubai flights have reportedly been diverted either to Maktoum International Airport or to Sharjah International Airport. Dubai media office has said that all passengers have been safely evacuated safely without any major injuries.
