Microsoft CEO Satya Nadella is expected to meet the United States- President-elect Donald Trump at Trump Tower in New York City. According to reports, Nadella is one of the many top executives of global tech companies who are scheduled to meet Trump. Re/code reports that CEO of Apple-Tim Cook, Alphabet- Larry Page, Cisco-Chuck Robbins, Intel- Ginni Rometty, Oracle- Safra Catz, Facebook COO Sheryl Sandberg are among the many who will attend the summit with the US- President-elect on Wednesday.
It was also reported that SpaceX and Tesla’ CEO Elon Musk along with Amazon’s founder Jeff Bezos were also invited to the summit. Although Elon Musk might skip the summit. Speaking to media, Oracle’s CEO Safra Catz said that she planned to tell Trump that they were all with him and would help in any way they could. She further stated that if Trump could reform the tax code, reduce regulation and negotiate better trade deals, the US technology industry would grow stronger and more competitive.
According to reports by Re/Code the invitation came from Reince Priebus, Donald Trump’s Chief of Staff and his son-in-law and chief whisperer Jared Kushner and the US President elect’s biggest supporter in the world of tech- Peter Thiel.
The tech giants are expected to discuss a wide range of topics from immigration reform to encryption to social concerns when they meet with Trump on Wednesday. These issues have been somewhat dismissed by the President-elect during his campaign. In fact Trump, during his campaign, had even called for the ban on Apple after it had refused to unlock an iPhine used by one of the San Berardino shooters.
