Motorola has launched the Moto Edge 50, the fourth phone under its Moto Edge 50 series, in India.
It is billed as the world’s slimmest IP68 MIL-STD-810H Military Grade certified durable smartphone. The phone is also IP68 certified.
Moreover, it boasts of a curved display and wireless charging, all for under Rs 30,000.
Motorola says the Moto Edge 50 combines elegant design with exceptional durability. It features an IP68 rating, making it resistant to dust, dirt, sand, and submersion in up to 1.5 metres of fresh water for 30 minutes.
The phone also meets military-grade MIL-STD-810H standards, having passed 16 tough durability tests, including resistance to shocks, vibrations, drops, extreme temperatures, high humidity, and low pressure.
The screen is protected by Corning Gorilla Glass 5—it’s a 6.7-inch 1.5K curved pOLED with a 120Hz refresh rate and up to 1600 nits of peak brightness (HDR10+ is supported).
The Moto Edge 50 comes in a choice of Jungle Green and Peach Fuzz (colour of the year 20024) in vegan leather finish and in Koala Gray colour in vegan suede finish.
Powering the Moto Edge 50 is Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 7 Gen 1 processor with 8GB of LPDDR4x RAM and 256GB of UFS2.2 storage.
Running the show is Android 14 software with a guarantee of two major OS and three years of security updates.
The phone is backed by a 5,000mAh battery with 68W fast wired and 15W wireless charging.
It has a trio of sensors on the back—a 50-megapixel main Sony LYT-700C sensor with OIS, 13-megapixel ultrawide with macro capability, and 10-megapixel 3x telephoto also with stabilisation.
The front camera is a 32-megapixel.
The sole 8GB/256GB version of the Moto Edge 50 is priced at Rs 27,999.
