Mark Zuckerberg comes up with a new announcement of testing user-created AI chatbots

On Thursday Zuckerberg said that the company will begin to surface AI characters made by creators through Meta AI studio on Instagram

The tests are expected to begin in the U.S

The social media company’s announcement came on the same day when Character.AI, a16z-backed chatbot company introduced the ability for users to talk with AI avatars over a call.

Zuckerberg explained in a post on his broadcast channel, that these chatbots will be clearly marked as AI.

“Rolling out an early test in the U.S. of our AI studio so you might start seeing AIs from your favorite creators and interest-based AIs in the coming weeks on Instagram,” Mark Zuckerberg explained.

Zuckerberg said that it worked with creators like the meme account Wasted and technology creator Don Allen Stevenson III to ‘roll out early versions of creator-made chatbots.’

Meta’s new AI avatars are expected to help creators engage with fans, especially when they can’t respond to all messages

The feature will initially be tested with around 50 creators and a small percentage of users.

As per sources Meta seems to plan to expand the rollout over the next few months, aiming for a full launch by August.

Furthermore, Meta also plans to improve these AI avatars over time and eventually make them available to more users and small businesses.
