The MSME Minister Jitan Ram Manjhi last week launched a dedicated programme for women entrepreneurs called Yashasvin

The initiative aims at supporting 1 lakh women entrepreneurs in tier 2 and 3 cities through skilling and capacity-building programs

According to a statement by the MSME Ministry, the programme will organise a series of mass awareness campaigns for formalizing women-owned informal micro enterprises

The campaigns will provide for capacity building, training, handholding and mentorship to the women-owned enterprises

The campaigns will be organised in collaboration with different central ministries or departments or state governments and women industry associations in the current financial year

Meanwhile, the ministry had also launched TEAM scheme last week to help at least 5 lakh micro, small enterprises sell on the ONDC platform, half of which would be women-led units

The scheme aims to support Udyam-registered MSEs with catalogue development and onboarding on ONDC along with account management support

As per NITI Aayog, out of 63 million MSMEs, around 20 per cent are women-owned enterprises in the country
