The consecration of Ram Mandir has generated an estimated business of Rs 1.25 lakh crores, as per a body representing traders in India -- Confederation of All India Traders (CAIT).

Delhi witnessed trade worth approximately Rs 25,000 crore while Uttar Pradesh experienced a surge of around Rs 40,000 crore.

“Ram Mandir has not only become a symbol of spiritual significance but has also opened new avenues for economic expansion across various sectors,” said CAIT.

Under its all-India campaign on the sidelines of Ram Mandir consecration, CAIT said the sale of Ram Mandir-related merchandise, including Ram Mandir models, garlands, door decoration items, flags, and other religious items reached unprecedented levels.

Additionally, the campaign witnessed sales of crores of sweets and dry fruits used as offerings, crores of clay lamps, brass lamps, and firecrackers.

“Ram Mandir phenomenon has not only elevated spiritual fervour but has become a driving force behind a thriving economic landscape, presenting a unique blend of tradition and commerce in the diverse markets of India,” said CAIT.

Earlier, CAIT had estimated Rs 50,000 crore business in January with the inauguration of Ayodhya’s Ram Temple.

According to CAIT, large quantities of special cloth garlands, lockets, key chains, pictures of Ram Darbar, models of Ram temple, Lord Ram Dhwaja, Lord Ram Angvastra etc., imprinted with the picture of Lord Ram are available in all the markets of the country.

The Ram Lalla idol was consecrated with Prime Minister Narendra Modi performing the pran pratishtha rituals in a historic ceremony at Ram Janmabhoomi Temple on January 22.

Who’s who of the India Inc, Bollywood and dignitaries from various walks of life participated in the pran pratishtha ceremony in UP’s temple town and around 8,000 VVIPs had attended the ceremony.
