How to Sell on the GeM Portal: Updated Process

To register on GeM, a seller needs a mobile number linked to his/her Aadhaar and email ID

Visit: https://mkp.gem.gov.in/registration/signup#!/seller

Select your business/ organisation type from the given menu

Tick the check boxes for required personal and business  details and click proceed

The window with following tabs will appear: 1: Organisation details2: Personal verification 3: Email verification 4: User credentials

Enter your business details in the first tab and click next

Select Aadhar or Pan Card for the verification 

Enter the details and verify through OTP sent to your number

Select your role as Proprietor or Karta and click next

Verify your Email ID through OTP sent to your Email

Enter Username and Password and click on 'Create Account'

Link your bank account with GeM and deposit the 'caution money'

For sellers with a turnover of less than Rs 1 crore, the caution money is Rs 5,000. For those with a turnover between Rs 1 crore and Rs 10 crore, the caution money is Rs 10,000. Sellers with a turnover exceeding Rs 10 crore must deposit caution money of Rs 25,000

There are no charges for the registration

If the seller is an original equipment manufacturer (OEM), they must obtain a Vendor Assessment report following the process specified on GeM

Add goods and services to your GeM profile to participate in bids and accept orders on the portal
