Flipkart Samarth aims to contribute to the socioeconomic development of the communities by focusing on small businesses, small artisans, and weavers across India through digitisation and providing them with access to e-commerce market

The initiative provides training and marketing support to small businesses and has entered into multiple strategic engagements and agreements with various state and central ministries to promote its cause

In January 2021, Khadi & Village Industries Commission (KVIC) decided to come up with its official e-commerce portal to provide a digital market to all stakeholders to sell products globally and to popularise Khadi and Village Industries' products
