Actor-turned-politician Kangana Ranaut, who is known for her films like Fashion, Queen, and Tanu Weds Manu, won the Mandi Lok Sabha seat in Himachal Pradesh on her electoral debut by a margin of 74,755 votes, according to the Election Commission of India.

Despite her parents’ wishes for her to pursue a career in medicine, she opted for a different path. This decision stirred considerable turmoil within her family, as she diverged from their expectations and embarked on her unique journey.

Her mother, Asha Ranaut, is a school teacher, and her father, Amardeep Ranaut, is a businessman. She has an elder sister, Rangoli Chandel, who became her manager in 2014, and a younger brother, Akshat.

Throughout her career, she delivered memorable performances in films such as “Fashion,” “Queen,” “Tanu Weds Manu” and its sequel, “Once Upon a Time in Mumbaai,” “Thalaivi,” and “Manikarnika: Queen of Jhansi.” Particularly, “Fashion” emerged as a career-defining milestone, achieving blockbuster success at the box office.

Her father, Amardeep Singh Ranaut, was once the General Secretary of Congress in Mandi and is now a businessman, while her mother, a retired teacher, resides in their ancestral home in Bhambla.

Her opulent residence in Manali, valued at Rs 30 crore, spans an impressive 7,600 square feet, boasting seven bedrooms, a gym, a yoga room, and a cosy fireplace. Additionally, she possesses a lavish 5BHK apartment in Mumbai valued at Rs 20 crore.

According to Lifestyle Asia, the ‘Queen’ actress boasts a net worth estimated at Rs 95 crore. Reports indicate that she commands between Rs 15-27 crore per film and charges Rs 3-3.5 crore for each advertisement.
