Railway Minister Ashwini Vaishnaw has announced the approval of 50 new Amrit Bharat trains
The announcement comes after the success of the initial two trains launched by PM Modi on Dec 30
These were – Darbhanga-Ayodhya-Anand Vihar Terminal and Malda Town-Sir M. Visvesvaraya Terminus
Amrit Bharat Express trains were introduced to enhance the overall travel experience
Amrit Bharat trains feature the Linke Hofmann Busch (LHB) push-pull design with non-air-conditioned coaches
The trains utilise advanced coupler technology, with engines at both the front and rear for improved acceleration and deceleration
The push-pull setup minimises jerking effects during starts and stops, enhancing passenger comfort
Moreover, the use of a semi-permanent coupler improves overall safety during train operations
These trains have horizontal sliding windows, dust-sealed wider gangways, aerosol-based fire suppression systems
They also have emergency disaster management lights, floor guide fluorescent strips
