Indian Railways has implemented a series of measures to ensure safety of passengers

IR is using advanced technologies to improve standards across network

RRSK initiative allocates funds for critical safety asset replacement, renewal, upgrading

RRSK witnessed a gross expenditure of Rs. 1.08 lakh crore

Electronic Interlocking Systems were implemented at 6498 stations by Oct 2023

These systems minimise accidents caused by human errors

Interlocking of Level Crossing Gates implemented at 11137 locations

This measure enhances safety at level crossings, contributing to accident prevention

Additionally, Kavach system is deployed on 1465 route km and 139 locomotives

It ensures safe train running and automatic brake application

Complete Track Circuiting is now in place at 6548 stations

GPS-based Fog Safety Device was introduced to enhance safety in fog-affected areas
