Royal Enfield unveiled the Scram 440 at the last edition of Motoverse in November 2024.
Prices of the Scram 440 are expected to be announced in January 2025.
It is a significant upgrade over the outgoing Scram 411. Here are some of the top highlights.
It is based on the same architecture as the old Himalayan 411 with minor increase in wheelbase but a 9 kg increase in kerb weight over the Scram 411.
It sports the same enclosure for the headlight without a windscreen, tank shrouds, and the round headlight. The headlight unit is now LED replacing the halogen light
The biggest change is the 443cc single-cylinder, oil-cooled engine delivering 25.4 bhp at 6,250 rpm and 34 Nm at 4,000 rpm.
Royal Enfield claims power is up by 4.5% and peak torque by 6.5%. With a 3 mm bore increase, torque should be more accessible at low revs.
The new 6-speed gearbox replaces the 5-speed unit and features a lighter clutch.
Another significant update is the larger piston for the 300 mm front disc.
Scram 440 now comes with tubeless tyres and alloy wheels, a feature not available in the 411 version.
