All-new second-gen Nissan Leaf unveiled globally. Here are all top highlights.

The boot lip has a ducktail-like design with a blacked-out section housing two-piece 3D tail lamps and a third stop light. A Nissan wordmark replaces the rear badge, and the bumper features prominent cladding.

The new Leaf features a walkthrough front design with a floating central console. Depending on the spec, it gets either twin 12.3-inch or 14.3-inch instrument and infotainment displays.
On the technology front, the new Leaf offers a range of driver assistance features such as ProPilot Assist, Intelligent Cruise Control, Lane Keep Assist, and a Driver Monitor System. It also comes with an 8-point 3D surround view monitor, Invisible Hood View, and a Front Wide View display that helps drivers see partially around obstacles ahead of the vehicle.
The new Nissan Leaf comes with two battery options: a 52kWh unit with up to around 436 kilometres of range, and a larger 75kWh battery pack that claims to deliver up to 604 kilometres.
The 52kWh battery is paired with an electric motor pushing out 174 bhp and 345 Nm while the 72 kWh unit comes with a more powerful 215 bhp and 355 Nm unit.

Nissan claims that the DC fast-charging capability of up to 150kW, the car boasts about 417 kilometres of range in 30 minutes.
On highways, the EV can cover over 330 kilometres at normal speeds, making long trips of over 800 kilometres feasible with minimal extra time compared to an ICE vehicle.
Sales of the new-gen Leaf are expected to commence in global markets towards the end of the year.
