BMW R 1300 GS launched in India at Rs 20.95 lakh

BMW has officially announced the prices for the new R 1300 GS in India, at Rs 20.95 lakh, ex-showroom.

The flagship adventure tourer will be available in 5 variants, namely, Light White, Triple Black 1, Triple Black 2, Trophy, and 719.

Deliveries for the motorcycle are expected to commence from June end, and will be sold in India as CBUs.

Compared to the older R 1250 GS, the new 1300 has lost weight and sports a sleeker look.

The motorcycle ditches it iconic asymmetrical headlight design for a new X-shaped setup.

The biggest update is the engine, which now displaces 1300cc, and makes 143bhp and 149Nm of torque.

The engine is mated to a new 6-speed gearbox with a bidirectional quickshifter.

Overall, BMW says that the new R 1300 GS is 90 percent new compared to the R 1250 GS.
