Lamborghini has officially unveiled its next super car named Temerario which replaces the outpgoing Huracan.
The Temerario was publicly displayed at the recently concluded Monterey Car Week 2024 in California. Here are some of its major highlights.
Hybrid powertrainTemerario is the third Lamborghini to get a plug-in hybrid powertrain after Revuelto and Urus SE.
It gets a new twin-turbocharged 4.0-litre V8 engine, assisted by three electric motors and a battery, The IC engine alone churns out 789 bhp and 729 Nm of peak torque.
On the other hand, the 3 electric motors draw energy from a 3.8kWh lithium-ion battery. The motor housed within the 8-speed automatic gearbox pushes out 148 bhp and 300 Nm.
Electric motors mounted on front and rear axles push out 81 bhp each. Total system output stands at 910 bhp and 800Nm.
Raging Bull PerformanceThe 4.0-litre V8 is the first supercar to redline at 10,000 rpm. The Temerario can sprint from 0-62 mph (0-100 kmph) in 2.7 seconds and reach a claimed top speed of 211 mph (340 kmph).
Although a plug-in hybrid, Lamborghini hasn't disclosed EV-only range yet. The battery can be charged using a traditional 7 kW AC charging port in 30 mins.
Traditional supercar designTemerario looks a typical Lambo with unique touches. Highlights include sleek LED headlights upfront with hexagonal LED DRLs on the front bumpers.
Temerario rides on 20- and 21-inch wheel options with forged or carbon-fibre. A slightly rearward offset profile directs the air directly onto the integrated rear wing.
Familiar cabin interiors Cabin highlights include a 12.3-inch digital instrument cluster, an 8.4-inch vertical infotainnment screen in the centre, a 9.1-inch touchscreen display for the passenger, and a 3-spoke steering wheel.
The Temerario weighs 1715kg dry which can be reduced up to 1690kg by opting for the track-focused Alleggerita (‘lightened’) package.
The new chassis provides an extra 34mm of head room and an extra 46mm of leg room.
Lamborghini is yet to announce the pricing for Temerario. It is expected to go on sale internationally either later this year or early 2025.
