Kia has unveiled its first-ever pickup truck named Tasman.

Images of the Tasman has broken covers ahead of its official debut at the Jeddah International Motor Show.

It will go on sale in South Korea in the first half of 2025 before hitting the roads in Australia, Africa, and the Middle East

The Tasman will be offered in both single-cab and double-cab versions. The pickup truck will be available in three variants: Base, X-Line, and the off-road-focused X-Pro.

Cargo bed in Tasman will be available in four configurations: Single Decker, Double Decker, Sports Bar and Ladder Rack. The cargo bed on the Tasman gets a max payload capacity of 1,195 kg in 2WD mode

Up front, the Tasman gets an expansive front radiator grille with the familiar Kia Tiger Face, featuring vertically oriented signature lighting incorporated into the headlamps.

Inside, the Kia Tasman features dual 12.3-inch screens comprisng the touchscreen infotainment and the digital intrument cluster.

Other notable features on offer include a panoramic sunroof,  Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, eight-speaker Harman Kardon audio system, folding table on the centre console, wireless charging, etc.

The pickup truck is capable of towing a load up to 3,500 kg. Ground clearance ranges between 224 mm to 252 mm.

Powering the Kia Tasman is either a 2.5-litre petrol engine producing 277 bhp and 421 Nm of peak torque or a 2.2-litre diesel unit churning out 207 bhp and 441 Nm of peak torque.

An 8-speed automatic transmission is offered as standard whereas the diesel also gets the option of a 6-speed manual gearbox as well.

Kia claims the petrol-powered Tasman can sprint from 0-100 kmph in 8.5 seconds. It is available in both RWD and AWD drivetrains.

The AWD variants of Tasman get three driving modes: Eco, Smart, & Sport, as well as four terrain modes - Desert, Mud, Snow, and Rock.
