Build Your Dreams (BYD) has officially launched its third electric vehicle (EV) in India at an introductory starting price of Rs 41 lakh (ex-showroom).

BYD will offer the Seal EV with a choice of three electric powertrain combinations comparing two battery pack options— 61.44kWh and 82.56kWh. Both batteries get BYD’s patented blade technology.

The 61.44 kWh unit is only available in the base Dynamic Range trim and claims a 510 km range. The 82.56 kWh battery offers a peak single-charge range of 580-650 km.

Its sweeping and aerodynamic design results in an impressive aero drag coefficient of 0.219 Cd.

The car rolls on 19-inch dual-tone alloy wheels with petal-like design a petal-like design.

In terms of dimensions, Seal EV measures 4,800mm in length, 1,875mm in width, and 1,460mm in height. Wheelbase of the battery-powered sedan stands at 2,920mm.

The Seal EV benefits from ADAS features like Forward Collision Warning, Automatic Emergency Braking, Rear Collision Warning, etc

The top-spec Performance variant with the 82.5 kWh battery gets two electric motors— one on each axle– offering all-wheel drive capabilities. The motor dishes out a combined output of 309 bhp and 360 Nm of peak torque.
