2025 BMW M2 breaks cover globally, a day after the updated 2 Series made its global debut. It will go on sale worldwide in a phase manner starting from August 2024.

This is the first major upgrade to the M2 ever since it made its debut last year. Here are its top highlights.

The 2025 M2 gets 4 new colour schemes namely Twilight Purple Pearl Effect Metallic, Grigio Telesto Pearl Effect Metallic, Java Green Metallic, and Voodoo Blue.

Gets M alloy wheels Style 930M in a double-spoke design with a Jet Black finish, 19-inch front and 20-inch rear as standard. Can also be opted in dual-tone or bright silver finish.

Comes with an optional carbon fibre roof  which can reduce the overall weight by 6kg and also improve the centre of gravity.

Inside, the new M2 gets an updated flat-bottom steering wheel with a new red center marker in the 12 o’clock position. An M Alcantara steering wheel is available as option.

M Sport seats in Vernasca leather can be had in Black with a Red highlight. The weight-saving M Carbon bucket seats carried forward from the previous model. 

Curved panel on the dashboard, housing a 12.3-inch digital gauge cluster and a 14.9-inch touchscreen, runs on the latest BMW OS 8.5.

Powering the new M2 is an updated 3.0-litre six-cylinder twin-turbo petrol engine which now dishes out 473bhp and 600 Nm of peak torque.

BMW M2 can be had with either a 6-speed manual or an 8-speed Steptronic automatic tranmission. Power is still only sent to the rear wheels.

0 – 100kmph spint now takes 4.0 seconds, 0.1 seconds faster than before. Top speed is electronically limited to 250 kmph.

Launch of the new BMW M2 is expected in 2025. Currently priced at Rs 99.90 lakh (ex-showroom).
