2024 Maruti Suzuki Swift breaks cover All you need to know

The 2024 Suzuki Swift was showcased at the recent Japan Mobility show.

The new Swift gets cosmetic changes and mechanical changes, while its India launch is expected next year.

Starting with the external changes, the 2024 Suzuki Swift gets a new grille and a shorter bonnet compared to the current-gen vehicle.

From the side, the notable changes are new 16-inch wheels and the rear door handle, which is back on the door instead of it being hidden.

Towards the rear, the Swift gets LED lighting, while the headlights are also LED units.

The overall cosmetic changes are minor, but the hatchback retains its similar silhouette.

Changes on the inside include a new infotainment system with connected car tech and a new OS.

The carmaker has retained the switchgear, AC vents, steering wheel, and other components from the current gen vehicle. 

However, the Japanese-spec Swift gets ADAS level 2, which is most-likely to be skipped when launched in India.

Mechanically, Autocar India reports that the 2024 Swift will get a new 1.2-litre three-cylinder petrol engine instead of the current 1.2-litre four-cylinder mill.

The engine is expected to be mated to a manual or an automatic gearbox.
