KTM has taken the wraps off the 2024 1390 Super Duke, which will replace the 1290.
The 1390 Super Duke gets a host of changes to the chassis, engine, and electronics compared to the 1290.
Staring with the chassis, the trellis frame has been updated to accommodate the larger engine, while also using thicker tubes that have thinner walls.
From the side profile, the new 1390 Super Duke looks similar to the 1290 Duke with its muscular tank, minimal bodywork, and side-slung exhaust.
Most of the design changes are visible from the front, including the new headlight similar to the new 990 Duke and winglets on either sides.
The headlight design is polarising, as it gets vertically stacked lights with a DRL surround that is hollow in the middle.
The main highlight is the engine, which is now 1350cc and makes 187bhp and 145Nm of torque, mated to a 6-speed gearbox.
In terms of equipment, the 1390 Super Duke gets USD forks, a monoshock at the rear, Brembo monoblock callipers, 17-inch wheels, and TFT display. The Evo R version gets semi-active suspension.
All the electronic aids have been carried forward, including the lean-sensitive ABS, traction control, wheelie control, slide control, and more.
The motorcycle gets launch control and ride height adjust that lowers the rear when the motorcycle comes to a stop. The motorcycle also gets different levels for wheelie control.
The 2024 KTM 1390 Super Duke will go on sale in January 2024 onwards.
