US Embassy issues security warning
Amid rising tensions, the US Embassy in the United Arab Emirates has issued a security alert to American citizens, warning of potential aerial threats.
In an official message, the embassy stated that it is closely monitoring the situation and urged US citizens to follow all instructions issued by UAE authorities. It also advised them to remain prepared to take shelter if necessary.
Broader impact of the Iran-US, Israel war
The ongoing war has triggered severe economic repercussions across several countries. Global trade has been significantly disrupted, particularly due to the closure of the Strait of Hormuz, a critical chokepoint controlled by Iran.
On Monday, the UAE announced that its air defence systems were actively intercepting missile and drone attacks launched by Iran. The UAE military confirmed it had successfully intercepted 15 missiles and four drones, describing the assault as “treacherous.” The country also asserted its right to respond appropriately to the attacks.
In a detailed statement shared on X, the UAE Ministry of Defence said, “The UAE’s air defences are currently dealing with missile attacks and incoming drones from Iran. The sounds heard in various parts of the country are the result of the UAE air defence systems intercepting ballistic missiles, cruise missiles, and drones. Our systems are actively engaging with these missile and UAV threats.”
