In renewed backlash directed at London-born influencer and YouTuber Sam Pepper, the Internet is still fuming at him. Social media users haven’t quite forgotten how one of his firework stunts in around Diwali time led to a freak accident, which nearly cost a young Indian girl her eye on October 20.
The amplified allegations targeting Pepper have resurfaced online, as X users are demanding that the Indian government take the issue up with UK government officials.
Influencer Sam Pepper hit with fresh allegations regarding Delhi incident
Just two days ago, “@theskindoctor13,” a popular account on X brought the issue back into focus. The user noted how Sam had come to “India on Diwali and fired a rocket toward a group of kids, hitting a little girl.”
He further noted that Pepper couldn’t get rid of the footage because the incident was caught on camera during a livestream. “His followers openly criticised him for the reckless act and expressed concern for the child,” the X user added.
Sam became the subject of severely controversial headlines in India month ago. Earlier this year, the internet personality, who once participated in the reality show Big Brother UK, visited the South Asian country. He was consequently accused of injuring a young girl in the nation’s capital, Delhi.
Hitting back at Pepper with the same allegations that surfaced online over a month ago, the user wrote, “He later claimed that the girl had only a minor cut, that he paid for the hospital expenses, apologised, and that the matter was settled. He later claimed that the girl had only a minor cut, that he paid for the hospital expenses, apologised, and that the matter was settled.”
Urging the Indian Ministry of External Affairs to take charge, the user demanded strict action against Pepper, alleging that the girl hadn’t merely suffered a minor cut, but sustained “permanent damage to her left eye, full-thickness corneal injury with uveal tissue prolapse.” The ‘Skin Doctor’ user further went on to say that the young girl “lost her eye” just because the Brit streamer was busy indulging in “reckless fun.”
Pepper has repeatedly refuted the suggestion that the girl in Delhi “lost her eye” due to his action.
Another influencer speaks out
Popular streamer who goes by the alias ‘Asian Andy’ responded to ‘The Skin Doctor’ post, saying that he had tried to reach out to Sam, but failed to get an answer.
I’ve tried to contact Sam directly, or through his friends to relay a msg from the families legal representation, and he has gone ghost and refuses to respond. It’s becoming clear that he has no intention to properly compensate this family or little girl he blinded and is trying… https://t.co/1RsTUAAxwR

“I’ve tried to contact Sam directly, or through his friends to relay a msg from the families legal representation, and he has gone ghost and refuses to respond,” Andy wrote on X. “t’s becoming clear that he has no intention to properly compensate this family or little girl he blinded and is trying to act like nothing happened. I’m currently trying to help the family set up an Indian go fund me account so they could be taken care of after this terrible incident.”
What happened: Sam Pepper’s India visit and Delhi girl’s eye injury
The said incident happened during a livestream as the former reality TV participant had partaken in firing fireworks in the direction of people standing nearby. With visuals caught live on camera, the clip ultimately went viral on social media. A bystander appeared to have been hit by the cracker Pepper had lit previously.
At the time, it seemed as if Pepper didn’t realise the gravity of the situation, as he was simply seen revelling in his firework stunt. The video showed him pumping his fit in the air, while someone was heard yelling “Headshot!” in the background.
Pepper only took note of what had really transpired when locals eventually approached him and told him that the firework had hit a young girl in the eye.
DISCLAIMER: The true extent of the Delhi girl’s eye injury remains unclear. The Financial Express has not independently verified these reports. All claims are based on social media posts.
When was Sam Pepper in India?
As is also established by Sam’s social media activity on Instagram at the time, the British influencer appeared to have been in India to celebrate the Hindu Festival of Light, Diwali. Subsequently, he remorsefully laid bare all that happened in a confession to The Independent.
In about a month-old report, the UK outlet quoted Pepper saying he “feels incredibly guilty” for the way he acted in Delhi. “I was in India for a big celebration that heavily involved fireworks. I was with a big group of locals and just joined in with everything they was doing. They were shooting small rockets that don’t explode back and forward,” he said of having joined locals in their Diwali celebrations.
Streamer admits to mistake – What Sam Pepper said after the Delhi firework stunt
In light of the injury-inducing accident that presumably traumatised the young girl hit by the firecracker, he called it a “a serious lesson learnt the hard way.” Pepper further admitted to the international outlet that he had been stupid to join others in the area, as his actions “ended up hitting a teen girl who was standing with the other group of adults.”
Additionally, the UK influencer also took to his X profile to issue a social media statement in the wake of the incident, which he claimed left the young one with a cut above her eye. He also told The Independent that the girl was sent home after she got stitches at a hospital.
“The girl’s vision is fine and she went home pretty quick,” he added. The Brit influencer also claimed to have reached out to an acquaintance’s relative to “help out at hospitals and pay for the hospital and gave the family some money along with my apology.”
Last month, social media user flooded X with remark suggesting that the young girl had “lost an eye.” However, Pepper refuted the statements. In addition to issuing a clarification of his own, he even took to the platform to respond to some of the comments online.
“Was in India tonight with another big group firing small fire cracker back and forth at each other, seems stupid now I’m writing this,” he wrote in his own post.
“But one of the group on the other side got hit by a cracker I shot and got a cut above their eye brow. I feel terrible, we sent someone with them to get them checked out and made sure all costs were paid, they got a paper stitch, and are now back home.”
On the other side, he replied to someone else on X: “Yeah this guy was being dramatic, still feel terrible anyone got hurt. But it was just a cut luckily.”
Has Sam Pepper been banned on streaming platforms?
Many users continue to urge the concerned parties so that Pepper may be banned from online streaming platforms. However, The Independent’s month-old report indicates that the viral personality had already confirmed having been banned from both the streaming platform Kick and the crypto-driven app Pump.fun after the incident.
“I won’t be doing anything stupid like this again,” the report quotes him saying. “It’s a serious lesson that I learnt the hard way and thank God it wasn’t any worse.”
Taking to his Discord serve, he shared in yet another post that he would be coming back to Kick. “It’s beyond disrespectful for me to intrude anymore,” he went on. “I’ve apologised to them and made sure they had everything they wanted, and will leave them be.”
