A viral video showing a Vande Bharat train being forced to halt after wooden logs were placed on the tracks has sparked strong backlash online, with the social media users flagging the act as a serious public safety threat. The clip shows a group of people of young men blocking the high-speed train to shoot content for social media, prompting calls for arrest and strict punishment.

As per the viral video, the men are heard in the video celebrating the stoppage, saying “rukwa diye Vande Bharat” and laughing as the train halts on an open stretch. A police constable from inside the train approaches them, believing they were attempting to board the train but the men replied on camera, saying they were not trying to enter and were only recording video. What does the viral video show?

The footage shows the group of young men placing large wooden logs directly across the railway tracks, after which a Vande Bharat Express is seen stopped mid-journey. The men are also seen recording the “live commentary” in the clip, documenting the moment the train slows down and stops.

After the video was circulated on X, users tagged the Railway Ministry, Railway Protection Force (RPF) and Union Railway Minister Ashwini Vaishnaw, calling for swift action. One post termed the act as terrorism and appealed to the authorities to arrest those involved and coordinate with the state government for strict actions.

Netizens demand strict action

The clip triggered a wave of reactions online, with several users demanding stringent laws and zero tolerance. One user tagged Amit Shah and stated that such acts should be booked under UAPA, adding, “Please make this change and start acting on all such cases.” Let them rot in jail without bail.” Others asked, “Which state are they from?” and questioned accountability, with one comment mentioning the “saddest part” is that despite proof, the perpetrators may not face consequences and could repeat such stunts.

Several reactions called it a clear crime and demanded arrests, including, “This is a crime, and these guys should get arrested and given strict punishment.” Another comment described it as more than foolishness. “This isn’t stupidity. This is criminal endangerment. A direct public safety threat.” Others slammed the broader trend of dangerous content creation, saying people are not thinking about innocent lives and are going after online attention.

As per the legal provision of Section 150 of the Railways Act, 1989, malicious interference with train operations can attract life imprisonment or rigorous imprisonment up to 10 years.

This incident has reignited concerns over reckless social media stunts involving key public infrastructure.
