Andy Flower, head coach of the Indian Premier League (IPL )defending champions Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB), compared his recent “crisp-eating” viral moment to the widely-shared Coldplay concert video of 2025. After being spotted snacking during the India vs. Zimbabwe U19 World Cup broadcast, Flower quipped that he felt just like Andy Byron and Kristin Cabot caught on camera in Boston.
The Viral Snacking Incident
Flower, commenting during the India vs. Zimbabwe U19 World Cup 2026 match, was caught on camera eating from a packet of crisps. Not only did the JioHotstar cameras catch him eating the snacks, but they also caught him quickly throwing the bag away on the seat next to him once he realised he was on screen.
His fellow commentators, especially Ed Rainsford, made a lot of fun of the incident, joking that Andy—who also did the pitch report for the match—had featured in the game more than some of the players on the field.
What did RCB coach Flower say about the Coldplay viral video?
Flower, when he finally joined the commentary booth after the incident, was quipped by fellow commentator Lydia Greenway on how he felt about the relentless nudges from Rainsford.
Responding jokingly, Flower said:
“I was just innocently eating a crisp with my fingers in the packet and then in my mouth when the camera poked at me. I am just an innocent man with more than desired belly fat, trying to have a good time. But the guy Rainsford, the kind of rubbish he spoke while in commentary, makes me feel like I was one of those couples caught at a Coldplay concert.”
